1. Thanks and Blog

I would like to inform you all of the SRC Blog, which has been put up and is now in full use so please do encourage all your batchmates to visit the site! It will be the best place to get to know what the SRC is working on and on finding out the happenings of IMU!

How the blog works is that main announcements will go on the main page, with specific announcements going on the the respective council members page.

Also, please inform your batchmates that if they are having trouble accessing the student lounge with their Student ID, please go to Administration on the 2nd floor.


2. Sri Emas

3. Swine Flu and Hand Hygiene

Dear All,
On the 5th May 2009 WHO will announce SAVE LIVES: Clean Your HandsVision 2020.
WHO will also launch the revised hand hygiene toolkit andthe revised WHO Guidelines for Hand Hygiene in Health Care.
The date 5th May links the ‘fives’ together of the 5th day of the5th month with the WHO 5 Moments for Hand Hygiene.
The aim, as outlined, on the website, is to be able to officially promote hand hygieneglobally on an annual basis every year on this day beginning in 2010.
The students of the M2/07 cohort will launch a hand wash campaign at IMU on 5th May. The IMU is One of the 5 institutes in Malaysia out of 4471 institutes worldwide that has declared commitment and registered for activities for this global programme.

Commonwealth Short Story Competition 2009
This competition is an annual scheme to support new creative writing and promote a wider range of Commonwealth voices. It is open to anyone who is a citizen of a Commonwealth country. Stories should be original, unpublished, written in English and no more than 600 words long. Entry is free. The first prize is 2,000 pounds. The closing date is 11 May 2009. Matsumae International Foundation Fellowship Programme 2010

The Matsumae International Foundation (MIF) would like to invite interested applicants to apply for the Matsumae International Foundation Fellowship Grant 2010. This grant is open to PhD holders or other equivalent qualifications acknowledged by MIF. Applicants should be 41 years of age or less. Priority is given to studies related to natural sciences, engineering and medicine.
